Local author, photographer, and filmmaker Isabel Hill will be reading from and signing her new children's book, Urban Animals. The book features photographs of animals in architecture around New York City. The book is written clearly and simply enough for very small children to enjoy, and it also includes a glossary of architectural terms and details about the location of the buildings where Hill found the animals she photographed, so the book opens up opportunites for learning and exploration for the whole family.

While school’s out (Thursday, December 24 through Sunday, January 3, 10am-5pm daily), the Museum is the “in” place to be, during our annual Winter Break Festival - World of Celebrations. Back by popular demand, this year’s festival boasts unique interactive family programs exploring toys, holiday customs, and seasonal traditions from across the globe like a toy inventors’ workshop, making peace doves, decorating gingerbread people, and much more!
Brooklyn, NY ---- The National Endowment for the Arts and the Puffin Foundation have awarded
funding to the non profit theatre Puppetry Arts of Brooklyn, New York, to sponsor a performance of the
organization’s original musical Anthropomorphic. A FREE showcase of Anthropomorphic open to the public will be
performed December 12 and 13 of 2009, at the Regal Theatre of Brooklyn, NY at 12noon. A Live 20 piece orchestra
will feature artists from the New York Symphonic Arts Ensemble (NYSAE) showcasing 10 original songs from the
musical score.
